Family Academy from MAKÜ: 5-week training program completed

In the training program lasting 5 weeks between August 01 – September 05, 2025, MAKÜ faculty members Prof. Dr. Firdevs Savi Çakar, Prof. Dr. Zeynep Karataş, Prof. Dr. Ali Murat Alparslan, Prof. Dr. Perihan Ünüvar, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Canan Gönüllü and Dr. Lecturer Demet Gülçiçek took part.
Participants received interactive and practical training under the titles Looking at Emotions with Psychodrama, Psychological Resilience in the Family, Strengthening Positive Communication in the Family, Changing Culture and Roles within the Family, Communication with Children in the Family, and Understanding Family Relationships with Creative Drama.
In the feedback given at the end of the program, it was emphasized that the training made significant contributions to understanding family relationships, the process was quite productive, and it would be beneficial to reach a wider audience with the program. After the five-week training, participation certificates were presented to 45 participants who attended the program.
Director of the Women's and Family Studies Application and Research Center and Program Coordinator Prof. Dr. Firdevs Savi Çakar stated that new Family Academy programs for students are planned with the start of the academic year. Çakar also announced that in addition to training on topics such as combating domestic violence and violence against women, strengthening the family, establishing and maintaining healthy family relationships among young people, studies aimed at university staff and the people of Burdur will also be implemented, and the Family Academy will be expanded.
